In 2007 Methods Unlimited was asked by Backspace to explore alternative design and layout ideas for the front page template of “ Democracy Now! ”, a national, daily, independent, award-winning news program hosted by journalists Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez.

The challenge of the redesign was to take the information that was required to appear on the front page, such as news headlines, a list of segments on the current day’s show, “The War & Peace Report”, a list of recent shows, recent blog posts, web features, links to purchase featured books and other merchandise, etc., and organize it in a cohesive, easily discernible structure with a bold, contemporary, yet clean and well balanced, appealing visual design.
