Committee to Protect Journalists
2008 - 2011

In 2008 Methods Unlimited was asked by Backspace to submit a proposal for the redesign of a front page and regional page templates for The Committee to Protect Journalists, a nonprofit organization founded in 1981 to promote press freedom worldwide by defending the rights of journalists to report the news without fear of reprisal.

The goal was to take the organization’s requirements and create a cohesive, easily discernible information structure and intuitive navigation, wrapped in an impactful and sophisticated visual design.

A number of elements initially proposed by Methods Unlimited were incorporated into the final version of the redesign effort.
