In 2007 Methods Unlimited offered its consulting services pro bono to design an online platform for The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Liberia.
The main objectives of the platform were to further promote the TRC’s mandate, make its work and process transparent and to be a trusted and secure conduit for collecting testimonies of the victims and perpetrators of Liberia’s civil war.
The visual design of the platform needed to clearly convey and support these very important objectives and to treat them with a great deal of care and sensitivity. Therefore, during the creative process, Methods Unlimited in partnership with Georgia Tech, utilized help of a focus group consisting of Liberian ex pats living in the U.S. to provide feedback and offer guidance in defining a culturally relevant and appropriate visual identity for the site.
The resulting work was enthusiastically received by the commissioners of the TRC, and the site was approved for launch.
